WING GLIDER PROGRAM MANAGER

Location:  WAWG Glider Base – 50 Airport Street NE – Ephrata, WA  

The Glider Program Manager reports to the Wing Director of Operations and is responsible for ensuring that the corporation objectives, policies, and operational directives are effectively executed within the Wing.   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

        Establishing plans, policies, and procedures necessary to the fulfillment of the Glider Program, which are not in conflict with the directives of higher headquarters.

        Keep informed of the accomplishments, problems, and degree of compliance with regulations and other directives through personal observations, inspections, reports, and meetings.

        Comply with all policies, regulations, and directives of higher headquarters and require the same compliance by all personnel involved in Glider Training and Operations.

        Ensure safety of personnel and equipment through compliance with directives and policy guidance; ensure an effective safety awareness, education, and inspection program within the Wing as it pertains to Glider Flight Operations.

        Select personnel to fill authorized operational  positions and remove from those positions  members deemed unqualified or otherwise unsuitable to continue in their positions.

        Establish policies and procedures to ensure an effective operations program, to include an on-going Orientation Flight schedule.

        Coordinate the activities to prevent overlapping of functions and to resolve conflicts.

        Be thoroughly familiar with all CAP and FAA directives associated with Glider Operations, to include CAPR 66-1 and CAPR 70-1.

        Be thoroughly familiar with all aspects and directives involving Risk Management and CAPR 62-1.

 

At the time you are assigned to this position you must:

        have completed Level II

        have completed Cadet Protection Training – Advanced.

        be safety education current at all times

        possess excellent organizational skills

        possess enthusiasm for CAP
