Green Darner II Cyber Education Camps



The WAWG - CET team held 2 virtual cyber education camps during the summer 2021 with the support of the Western Washington University Cyber Range (Cyber Range in Poulsbo, WA)

  • WAWG Green Darner II.S
    July 12-16, 2021 - Standard level Cyber Education Camp

  • WAWG Green Darner II.A
    July 26-30, 2021 - Advanced level Cyber Education Camp
    The WAWG Green Darner Cyber Education Camps will include:
    • the curriculum and activities from their corresponding AFA CyberCamp level, 
    • the presentation and activities from related computer science topics,
    • panel discussions with industry specialists (military, communications, computer and aerospace industries)
    The WAWG Green Darner Cyber Education Camps will be presented by the WAWG Cyber Education Team and guest instructors which will include Cadets, Senior Members and non-CAP computer specialists.

    Tentative Daily Schedule: (can be changed and adjusted to match the curriculum and the schedule of the instructors)
    • 08:45 to 09:00 - Sign in and Announcements
    • 09:00 to 12:10 - AFA CyberCamp curriculum (3 hours with short breaks)
    • 12:10 to 13:00 - Lunch break (50 mn)
    • 13:00 to 14:30 - Hands-on practices (1 h 30 mn)
    • 14:30 to 14:45 - First afternoon break (15mn)
    • 14:45 to 16:45 - Related computer science topics with activities (2 hours with short breaks)
    • 16:45 to 17:00 - Second afternoon break (15 mn)
    • 17:00 to 18:00 - Industry Specialists 
    This camp is FREE of charge since all materials will be provided electronically, but CyberCamp t-shirts and student workbooks are available for purchase.

    🛩️  STUDENT: 
    • Be an active CAP member
    • Have attended an AFA CyberCamp Standard level or similar experience (email Maj Sylvie Kacmarcik for waiver)
    • Have a WAWG email to access our Google Classroom
    • For participants from outside of the Washington Wing, use an alternative Google or Gmail address

    🎓 SET UP for WWU-Cyber Range:
    • The computer used during the camp will need one of the following operating systems: Windows 10 or Linux Ubuntu (18.04 or higher). We are waiting to hear back on the Mac OS requirements.

    • More instructions will be provided at the beginning of the camps.

    Join us in the Day 0 Google Meet sessions where we will provide you with the configuration files to set up the VPN to access the Western Washington University Cyber Range. We will also help you troubleshoot the BIOS or VMware issues you might encounter. Check your email for meeting link.
