Meeting Location:  50 Airport Street NE – Ephrata, WA  98823 – 2nd weekend each month September-June


Reports directly to the Academy Director and as such, is the adviser to the Director on all matters associated with the DFAC operations.


They will:

·         Work with the Director on all DFAC matters.

·         Be responsible for planning basic menus for multiple meals to be served during training weekends and other special training events and the preparation of each meal to be served.

·         Prepare monthly budgets for supplies required for each training period or session.

·         Arrange for the purchase of supplies required for each training period or session, using the most cost-effective methods available in concert with the budget forecast.

·         Supervise members (cadet and senior) assigned to assist or perform duties within the DFAC area.

·         Ensure than processes related to food handling and sanitation issues are in compliance with State and Local directives.


The DFAC Manager, to be effective, must be familiar with all publications and directives relative to food handling, preparation, and storage, and complete training opportunities presented.


At the time you are assigned to this position you must:

        Possess a Washington State Food Handler’s certification card.  This can be obtained after being assigned to the position but must be completed prior to assuming the duties and assignment described.

        have completed Level II

        have completed Cadet Protection Training – Basic

        be Safety Education current

        possess enthusiasm for CAP
