THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY BEING STAFFED WITH AN INTERIM CHIEF OF STAFF. A PERMANENT ASSIGNMENT IS BEING SOUGHT.
The Wing Chief of Staff reports to the Wing
Commander. and oversees the performance and responsibilities of the Wing
Support Staff. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following:

Acts
as an adviser to the Commander and Command Staff
·
Assists
the Commander in facilitating effective decision-making
·
Coordinates
the execution of strategic initiatives
·
Participates
in the process to discuss potential staffing issues
·
Ensures
all staff issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and
keeps track of progress until resolved
·
Facilitates
and coordinates scheduled staff meetings that include the Wing Support Staff
·
Be
familiar with and ensure compliance with all current CAP Regulations and
Manuals
·
Be
familiar with and ensure compliance with all current Region and Wing
Supplements and Operating Instructions
At
the time you are assigned to this position you must:
- Have
completed Level III
- Have at least four years’ experience as a Wing Staff
Director or Wing/Group Staff Member responsible for the supervision of
subordinate members
- Military experience is a plus
but is not required.
- Demonstrate proof of active
participation in various Wing activities such as Conferences, Training
Exercises, Recruiting Programs and other activities that promote Civil
Air Patrol during your tenure as a CAP member
- Hold at
least a Senior Rating in any Specialty Track and preferably enrolled in
or have attained a rating in the Command Specialty Track
- Have completed Cadet
Protection Training – Advanced
- Have the ability to work
effectively with a team or multiple teams.
- Be safety education current
- Possess an enthusiasm for CAP
This
position is open to any CAP member who meets the qualifications above and is not
limited to only members of WAWG Headquarters Staff.
