The Squadron Leadership School is part of the senior member professional development program, Level II, outlined in CAPR 50-17.

PURPOSE: The SLS Course provides CAP's adult members with a basic understanding of CAP operations at the squadron level and how those operations affect CAP's national missions. Additionally, members learn more about CAP customs, core values, and communications. Case studies, discussion, and group assignments are integral facets of the SLS. The course provides interesting and useable information for team building and team participation by the squadron volunteer.


PREREQUISITES:  CAP officers taking part in the SLS must have completed Level I, and have been assigned a specialty track.


The SLS is conducted in a classroom setting by experienced instructors from various squadrons in the area. Class will start at 0800 sharp each day and break for lunch at noon.  Dismissal on Saturday will be at approximately 1600.  Graduation and dismissal on Sunday will be at approximately 1500.


UNIFORM. Uniform will be USAF Blue, CAP Corporate, or CAP Polo Shirt/grey trousers. (Ref. CAPR 39-1 Uniforms) No BDU or flight uniforms are authorized.

Location: Northshore Composite Squadron - SSGT Joe Hooper Army Reserve Center, 130 A 228th St SW BothellWA. Travel and Lodging is “on-your-own”. There are hotels close by if needed. Students may bring their own lunch, or go to one of the many area restaurants for lunch. Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided at the class.  

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Registration is presently open and is limited to 20 students. The course fee is $15.00.

Payment & CAPF 17: Please submit CAP Form 17 directly to WAWG HQ at the address below.  The $15 registration fee may be paid by personal check payable to CAP, or by squadron funds transfer to WAWG,    For funds transfer, submit a Washington Wing Purchase Request and Approval Form Purchase Order (WWF 4) to Wing Headquarters, (wawa@wawg.cap.gov) signed by the squadron commander and finance officer.
